The Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits Baltic Student Chapter was created in autumn 2009. Developing student activity converted into the international team of students interested in economic geology. It gathers both PhD and undergraduates from Poland, Finland and Sweden.
The regular point of our activity is organization of general meetings to enable members exchange of opinions and present their scientific activity. During the meetings we organize fieldtrips to mines, related production plants and geological research points. It is very important for studying people to increase their practice.

The Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA) is an international scientific society founded in 1965 in Heidelberg that promotes the science of mineral deposits geology. Its worldwide membership of over 1300 is composed of researchers, professionals and students from university, industry and government interested in economic geology, mineral resources, industrial minerals and environmental aspects related to mineral deposits. Its publication, Mineralium Deposita, is recognized as a premier international scientific journal on mineral deposits geology. The SGA organizes, besinde the biennial scientific meetings, international short courses and workshops and publishes the proceedings. The SGA also supports student chapters.
The objectives of the SGA are:
